Fall 2022 Regular Academic Session 1 Exams

For all Undergraduate divisions and the Graduate School

• Two hours are allowed for each examination.
  Unless otherwise stated in the course syllabus that is distributed at the beginning of the term, faculty must allow students the full two hours for any exam held during final exams week.
• Day classes are designated by the first or only day of the week and the hour the Lecture meets.  Thus, a Monday - Wednesday - Friday or a Friday only class that meets at 8 a.m. is listed on the chart under Lecture starts between 8 and 8:55 a.m. as M-W-F classes; Wednesday, December 14, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
• Courses that do not meet on the hour have their examination scheduled at the time of the hour portion of the actual meeting time.  Thus, a Tuesday - Thursday 9:30 a.m. class would be scheduled under Lecture starts between 9 and 9:55 a.m. and listed Tu - Th classes; Wednesday, December 14, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.  NOTE:  one exception:  Lecture starts at 3:30  p.m. which only pertains to Th-only classes.
• Evening classes, which begin with the Lecture starts between 4:00 and 5:55 p.m. time period do differentiate between one-day and multiple-day courses.  Under Lecture starts between 5 and 5:55 p.m., M-only classes are scheduled on Monday, December 12, 5:45 - 7:45 p.m. while M-W & W-only classes are scheduled on Wednesday, December 14, 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. 
• All other sessions:  final exams may be given on the last date.  Check your syllabus.

Policy notes:

1. No examinations may be scheduled by faculty in the week preceding final examination week.
2. Any changes in this examination schedule must be approved by the Office of the Provost.
3. When a conflict is found in the examination schedule (i.e., two examinations scheduled for the same period), it should be reported to the college/school in which you are enrolled.
4. An alternative examination time for an individual student's convenience is not permitted. For those extreme situations that may warrant an exception, the student must confer with the faculty. Any change of the examination time in this instance is at the discretion of the faculty.
5. No student is required to take more than three final examinations in one day, as long as these exams are not a team presentation, a take home final or a final paper. Students in this circumstance should contact their college office to reschedule one exam. The exam to be rescheduled is at the discretion of the college.
6. Changes because of emergency situations (i.e., the university closing because of inclement weather, power outage, etc.) will be resolved by the Office of the Provost.
7. To arrange for ADA final exam room accommodations, faculty must contact the Office of Disability Services no later than five business days before the scheduled examination.
