Matteo Arena Professor of Finance and MSF Director

MSF courses taught: Investment Banking and Advanced Financial Management.

Dr. Arena is one of the leading finance experts on corporate litigation and his research in corporate finance is widely published in top-tier finance journals such as the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, among others. His work has been featured in national media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, the Washington Post and NPR Marketplace. George CashmanAssociate Professor of Finance and Robert B. Bell, Sr. Chair in Real Estate

MSF courses taught: Real Estate Finance.

Dr. Cashman’s research interests include organizational and contract design, mutual fund investor behavior, boards of directors, and the effects of information within marketplaces. George’s research has been published in the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Financial Markets, the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Financial Review, Advances in Financial Economics, and the Journal of Economics and Finance.

Brian JacobsenInstructor of Practice of Finance

MSF courses taught: Financial Econometrics.

Dr. Jacobsen is Chief Economist at a wealth management firm and has years of experience as a quantitative researcher in the economics and asset management areas. He has published numerous articles in practitioner-oriented journals like the Journal of Portfolio Management and the Journal of Asset Management. His research focuses on portfolio construction and data analysis, including advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence. His insights have appeared on CNBC, Fox Business News, Bloomberg, and the Wall Street Journal.

 

Byounghyun (BH) JeonAssistant Professor of Finance

MSF courses taught: Financial Derivatives and Investments.

Dr. Jeon's research and teaching interests focus on empirical asset pricing in stock and derivative markets.  Dr. Jeon's research is published in the Journal of Banking and Finance and Pacific-Basin Finance Journal.

 BH Jeon

Bin Wang Associate Professor of Finance and Department Chair

MSF courses taught: International Finance and Investments.

Dr. Wang's research is focused on topics in corporate finance, international finance, banking, hedge funds and sustainability. His work has been published in top-ranked finance journals, including Management Science, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Journal of Corporate Finance.  He is the recipient of the 2021 Marquette Business Miles Research Fellow Award and the 2023 Marquette University Core Curriculum Teaching Excellence Award.
