Diederich 101: Episode 3
Making Connections

Dear Diederich College alumni:
Summer at Marquette has a different pace than the academic year; it offers us a chance to take a step back, evaluate, and reflect. One of the things that stands out to me in this process of reflection is the way in which we are creating connections both on campus and in the larger community.
We wanted to share with you some more ways in which our college's networks continue to evolve and impact our students by introducing you to Dave Wilcox, a faculty member focusing on strategic communication. During the past semester, one of his courses served as advertising consultants for a local company, Generac, where Michael Stearns (Comm '18) works as a videographer. Students were asked to work in teams and present advertising campaigns for Generac as their final project. One of those students, Dolly Simonet-Garcia, has a very personal experience with the generators produced right here in Milwaukee.
In that spirit of connection, please know that we would love to hear from you, whether it is an update on your personal or professional life, or just to say hello. My hope is that you are able to take some time and relax this summer, and that we hear from you soon.
