Open to any student with sophomore or junior status majoring in any program within the Diederich College of Communication, this merit-based scholarship is for students who demonstrate a keen interest and ability in sports communication, whether that is expressed through the coverage of sporting events, promotion of sports or other means. Recipients should exhibit exceptional writing ability and possess an interest in pursuing a career in sport communication. The award includes a scholarship pending review of the student's financial aid package. Students who have previously received this scholarship are not eligible to apply again.

Requirements to apply: submit a video biography that tells your personal story as well as why you feel qualified to receive this award along with a one-page resume of professional quality and three samples of work highlighting a creative use of communication. These may be written, video or graphic (e.g., news report, feature story, original social media post, blog entry, advertisement, web design, etc.).
