The Student Technical Support Specialist makes on-site visits to user departments to provide hardware and software technical support including configurations, installations, upgrades, and replacements. He/she performs diagnostics and escalates Remedy tickets as required to assure appropriate and prompt solutions to user problems. He/she is responsible for troubleshooting and imaging IT Services computer labs.

Assist students with getting their computers hooked up the to the campus network, which may include troubleshooting network connections and wireless and cleaning systems to rid them of any viruses prior to connection. Perform maintenance on computers in the residence labs including upgrading software and troubleshooting assorted computer problems on both Mac and PC platforms.

The e-learning assistant helps the e-learning application specialist with support for the Desire2Learn course management system. He or she will also help develop training materials and conduct training sessions with faculty. Other duties as assigned.

He or she must have a working knowledge of Windows and UNIX server systems and Cisco networking architecture.

This position requires knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the Apple Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office software. He or she removes hard drives from PCs and Apple computers, erases hard drives, and losg appropriate information. The position involves receiving, checking in and imaging new computers, as well as installing applications and configuring computers. Duties include lifting and moving computers and equipment up to 25 pounds.

The Card Services Assistant diagnoses, troubleshoots and resolves software, hardware and technical problems in a cross platform environment. He or she deals with customers to ensure that issues are promptly and satisfactorily resolved or assigned to the appropriate Application Specialist. Duties include installing, configuring, upgrading and replacing software, workstations and peripherals.
