1. If you had/have a mentor, what’s one piece of advice that sticks with you every day?
“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” -Warren Buffett
2. Why are you serving as a mentor?
Because it will make a difference in the universe.
3. What qualities do you look for and appreciate in the people you work with or hire?
People who never stop learning, teach others what they have learned and will learn, and get things done.
4. Two things you think a Marquette student should do before they graduate.
Convince yourself to do what you love before graduation and continue doing so after graduation, and then convince one of your friends to do the same, prior to and after graduation.
5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I really enjoy flying giant kites (more than 75 feet in length) at Lakeshore State Park and Veterans Park in Milwaukee. Some would say, though, they fly me more often than I fly them.
Manny Raynal is vice president of IT and data center operations at L K Consulting in Milwaukee.
