Remembering James Foley

Friends and colleagues of alumnus and journalist James Foley, Arts ’96, are honoring his life through memories and a memorial scholarship fund in his name. The James Foley Scholarship Fund will demonstrate to the next generations the values he stood for. On Twitter, the #RememberingJim campaign seeks to keep his spirit alive through pictures, videos, stories and quotes.

A prayer vigil to remember James Foley and in support of the Foley family will be held Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. in the Church of the Gesu, 1145 W. Wisconsin Ave. All members of the Marquette and Milwaukee communities are welcome.

The university will provide free parking in the Wells Street Structure (located at 13th and Wells streets) for attendees.

Those who are unable to join are encouraged to pray A Prayer for Journalists. Rev. Frederick Zagone, S.J., chaplain of the Marquette University Alumni Association, also offers this prayer for James.
