2022 - 2023 Academic Year
Sigma Iota Rho, the National Honor Society of International Affairs, has an active and growing chapter at Marquette University thanks to the diligent and committed work of past and present chapter officers Lyric Glynn '20, Keeley Cronin '21, Katherine Walsh ' 22, Jack Hammerton (class of 2023) and Kaley Gilbert (class of 2023). Sigma Iota Rho was recognized as the New Student Organization of the Year in 2020, quadrupled membership, and often hosts the Annual International Affairs Alumni Panel each spring.
The 2022-2023 school year holds numerous opportunities for members to network with alumni. Sigma Iota Rho was one of many international organizations hosting the Fall 2022 INIA Kickoff event at which Suzanne McGuire (MU '94; a double major in International Affairs and Political Science, formerly serving as the Senior Advisor to NATO and Europe), and now serving as the Deputy Director of the U.S. Department of the Navy. Ms. McGuire returned to the Marquette Campus to serve as the guest speaker for the March 24th Spring 2023 Induction Ceremony and was recognized for her own contributions to the field of International Affairs with an Honorary Induction.
