External Professional Development Resources
Marquette provides faculty, staff and students access to several professional development resources.
Academic Impressions
Through the University’s Academic Impressions membership, students have access to:
- Hundreds of hours of online training, both live and on-demand (with new trainings added weekly)
- Virtual conferences
- Additional tools, resources, and articles
- Exclusive member resources for: current and aspiring women leaders, improving online teaching and student support, academic leaders and institutional advancement
- A series focused on learning paths (e.g., time management, building resilience, decision making, leading inclusively, etc.) to help leaders at all levels sharpen their skills
- Unlimited participation in a daily Virtual Writing Café; providing support, accountability, and community for those wanting focused work space
- Direct access to the Academic Impressions research team to discuss emerging topics
You can start accessing these resources immediately. Simply login or create an account on the Academic Impressions website using your @marquette.edu email address, and member benefits will automatically be granted.
Imagine PhD
Doctoral students are invited to benefit from Imagine PhD, a career exploration and planning tool for the humanities and social sciences.
- Select "Create Account"
- Complete Registration Form
Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)
Marquette has an institutional Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) license providing Marquette faculty, staff and students access to online courses in several areas, including:
- Animal Care and Use
- Conflicts of Interest
- Good Clinical Practice
- Human Subjects Research
- Information Privacy and Security
- Responsible Conduct of Research (Please note: completing online CITI RCR courses does not meet RCR training requirements at Marquette. Students required to complete RCR training should contact the Office of Research Sponsored Programs and request enrollment in GRAD 9953: Seminar in Conduct of Research)
Access the CITI online courses and follow the instructions below:
- Select “Register”
- Search for Marquette University in the “Organization Affiliation” box
- Confirm the Terms of Service agreement and affiliate statement
- Select “Continue to Create Your CITI Program Username/Password
- Complete the Personal Information form using your Marquette email address (@marquette.edu)
- Complete the Create your Username and Password form (suggestion: use your EMARQ username and password)
- Complete the remaining registration forms
- Complete the CITI Course Enrollment questions to reflect the courses you intend to complete (you can add enroll in additional courses at a later time)
- Complete the course-specific questions as appropriate based on the courses in which you are enrolling
National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity
Marquette is an institutional member of the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity providing Marquette faculty, staff and students access to access to resources and support including:
- Monthly core curriculum, guest expert webinars, and multi-week courses
- Audio and video recordings, slides, and transcripts from all webinars
- The Monday Motivator (weekly email including productivity tips)
- Career Center resources
Access the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity dashboard and resources, and follow the instructions below.
- Select “Join NCFDD”
- Select Marquette University from the dropdown menu
- Select “Activate My Account”
- Complete the first page of the Account Information form using your Marquette email address (@marquette.edu)
- Select “Continue” and complete subsequent pages of the Account Information form
- Click “Activate Account” in the email sent to your Marquette email address
