For Jim Imhoff, athletics – both the men's basketball team and his own intramural contests as a member of the Chain Pullers playing against arch rival, the Rabbits – are an important part of his Marquette memories. He also recalls some outstanding teachers – like Dr. Herman F. Loebl, professor in the Accounting and Finance Department, and Dr. Theodore Marburg, professor of economics.
What Imhoff doesn't remember is much attention to real estate in Marquette's College of Business Administration. "I think there were just two courses – one in land development and one in real estate," he says. So, when Marquette established a real estate major a few years ago, Imhoff was delighted."It was the right time to get involved, to give," Imhoff says, explaining why he funded an endowed scholarship for the real estate program. "I have fond memories of my years at Marquette and I hope today's students will, too. And I know how important philanthropy is to an institution like Marquette."
