PARENT INFORMATION

EXCELLENCE

Within the center, committed early childhood professionals work toward educating the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually — to set the stage for life-long learning. Based in developmentally appropriate practice, the curriculum focuses on play, creativity and hands-on learning for children from 6 weeks through 11 years of age.

FAITH

As part of the Catholic university, Marquette University Child Care strives to meet the needs of the community of which we are a part and adopts the Jesuit traditions of incorporating diversity into a value-centered curriculum. We embrace the faith traditions of the families of children in our program.

LEADERSHIP

The early childhood staff at the center is committed to life-long learning. Staff members are encouraged to be active leaders in the field through continuing education, working toward a national credential and through memberships in professional organizations.

SERVICE

Family is respected as the most important teacher in a child’s life; therefore, communication, cooperation with families and meeting children’s individual needs are of utmost importance. The early childhood staff at the center serves as an integral part of each child’s family by recognizing the need for nurturing and respecting children’s own level of development. The center also promotes service to the community and those in need within a developmental context that children can understand.
