MilwaukeeWI53201United States of America(414) 288-1408maura.moyle@marquette.eduMaura Jones Moyle received her B.S. in Anthropology and M.S. and Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She studied under Susan Ellis Weismer in the Language Processes Laboratory at the Waisman Center focusing on children with specific expressive language delay and specific language impairment. Dr. Moyle joined the faculty at Marquette University in 2003 where she specializes in child language development and disorders, literacy, and linguistic and cultural diversity. She is especially interested in increasing the quality of education and outcomes for preschool children from urban, low-income communities.
Dr. Moyle is currently collaborating with researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on a project investigating parent facilitation of early language and literacy skills at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. Previously, she was principal investigator and co-director of the Wisconsin Reading Acquisition Program (WRAP), an Early Reading First project funded by the U.S. Department of Education. She was also co-director of the Reading Acquisition Program and the Reading Acquisition Program-Teacher Training Project.
