O-Fest offers students the opportunity to explore Marquette's student organizations by talking to organization representatives and signing up for organizations of interest. In addition, there will be a number of university offices and departments present to share information about various programs and services available to students at the university.

Make a Difference Day: November 8th | 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM

Make a Difference Day focuses on assisting older homeowners in the Milwaukee community in preparing their homes for winter. We are excited to invite student teams, clubs, and as many community members as possible to join us for this meaningful service event! Gather your friends and organizations to work together and make a positive impact in the Milwaukee community. National Voter Registration Day Mini Carnival | Sept. 17th | 3:00-6:00 pm

Celebrate democracy with Milwaukee Public Library! Test your knowledge of voting and the electoral process, vote in a mock election, and take a turn at our prize wheel for some fun swag. Volunteers from the following organizations will be on hand to answer your questions about voting, eligibility, and access to the polls:   City of Milwaukee Election Commission; League of Women Voters; Voces de la Frontera; Marquette University's Center for Urban Research, Teaching and Outreach; Souls to the Polls; UWM's Center for 21st Century Studies.  Exercise your rights and help inform your community this National Voter Registration Day.

Location: Milwaukee Central Library- Mozart's Grove and Main Street.

MLK Connect & Serve: January 15th, 2024

Come learn more about the MLK legacy on MLK day 2024 in Weasler Auditorium. Meet new people and be immersed in your community while learning more about service and how you can contribute. There will be many activities offered such as card making, blood donating, and creating care kits that will all go toward the Greater Milwaukee Community. Are you looking to get involved with service but are unsure where to begin? Join us from 2:00-5:00 PM in the 2nd floor lobby of the Alumni Memorial Union for a showcase highlighting some great community partners both on and off-campus.

Justice In Action: March 23rd, 2024

The Justice in Action Conference is a one-day student-focused conference to explore your role in service, community and social change. The Justice in Action Conference showcases the beauty and justice work in our community of Milwaukee and on campus and builds stronger relationships in the pursuit of a stronger sense of community. Be ready to meet new people, learn new skills and challenge your understanding of community engagement and justice. Register here.

Book Discussion: American Mother

American Mother tells the important, inspiring story of Diane Foley, mother of Marquette alum, James Foley, who was murdered by ISIS in 2014. It is a story of courage, grief, and forgiveness. There will be two discussions, hosted by Dr. Leah Flack, Scholar in Residence at the Arrupe Center. You do not need to attend both.

This event is free, but registration is required. The first 25 people to register will recieve a free copy of the book.

Marquette Community Day of Service: April 20th, 2024

Marquette Community Day of Service, formerly Hunger Clean-Up, is our largest and longest-running day of service. Since its beginning in 1989, over 34,000 students, faculty, staff and alumni have served with community partners in the city.  Marquette Community Day of Service is one of the many ways we can connect with our mission and with Milwaukee through service.

Marquette Service Project: September 30, 2023

Marquette’s Young Alumni Association is partnering with the Arrupe Center for Community Service and Social Responsibility and the Burke Scholars Program to bring young alumni and current students together in service to support Milwaukee neighborhoods through the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center. Attendees will help to winterize the Community Garden beds, clean up Pulaski Park and assist with graffiti removal and repainting. Register online.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a smaller service event focused around Marquette's immediate surrounding neighborhood, the Near West Side. Neighbors Helping Neighbors will run from 8:30 am to 12pm. Register here!
