First Year Honors Community

Straz houses the Rec Plex gym with courts, gym equipment, a yoga room and a 25-yard lap pool.  Straz also has a dining hall, private bathrooms, air conditioning, 3 elevators, common rooms on every floor to hangout in, classrooms and study rooms, a piano room, and a social hangout space on the 2^nd floor with a pool table!

Hear from students: why do you like living in the honors LLC?

AVA: Few reasons why I like living in the LLC is that the RAs have a lot of experience with the coursework and the kind of load that we’re taking on as freshmen so they’re a really good resource to reach out to when you need help and that the community around it definitely cares a lot about their classes and their classwork and that same drive spreads to community nights and meeting people altogether is a really good experience.

REBECCA: I strongly recommend living at the living learning communities. It is giving me immense benefits. It filled me with a community that cares for school and knows how to have fun. It’s very important in your first year because then you develop good study habits. I really recommend it, not only because there’s a gym and a pool and your own dining hall but also because the people you meet there and the connections you make are just unforgettable and so beneficial for you. I really liked it and I know you would too.

Get to know Straz Tower – common rooms on every floor. Lots of classroom and study space. Computer lab and printer, laundry room, mailboxes and mailroom, a piano room and a 2^nd floor social hangout space with a pool table. Straz Room have private bathrooms and air conditioning> There doubles, singles, and quads.
