Curriculum Vitae

Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director of Athletic Training

Exercise Science

Chris Geiser joined Marquette as Athletic Training Program Director for the Department of Physical Therapy’s Program in Exercise Science in February 2003. Mr. Geiser is a Physical Therapist and an Athletic Trainer, with a vast clinical background in the field of Sportsmedicine.  He has worked with a broad spectrum of athletes from football and soccer players to ballet dancers and musicians.  He has been invited to speak at national, regional and local athletic training and physical therapy meetings and at many continuing education courses in the Midwest. In 1996 he was the Southeast Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association’s Mary Pat Murray award winner for clinical excellence.

His research interests focus on lower extremity injury biomechanics, the movement patterns that lead to increased lower extremity injury risk, and how rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques can influence those movement mechanics.  Current projects include examining the influence of generalized joint hypermobility on lower extremity biomechanics, the role of passive ankle joint dorsiflexion on landing mechanics, and the effect of manual therapy techniques at the ankle on landing mechanics.
