April 2, 2025
MILWAUKEE -- The Institute for Women’s Leadership at Marquette University will host a panel discussion to celebrate women leading community-level change as part of the fourth annual IWL Gala on Thursday, April 10, in the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Dr. Lezlie Knox, chair and associate professor of history, will moderate the keynote discussion that will feature Nancy Hernandez, president of the Hispanic Collaborative; Ana Simpson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast; and Dr. Stacia Thompson, president and CEO of the Sherman Phoenix Foundation.
The annual IWL Gala celebrates women who engage, inspire and transform the Marquette and Milwaukee communities. The event serves as an empowering evening, embracing leadership and authenticity while gathering with IWL community members from across campus and beyond.
In addition to the panel discussion, the IWL will honor its Transformational Leadership award recipients, recognizing a community leader, campus leader and Marquette student for their community leadership.
Registration is available online. Media interested in attending the gala, or speaking with organizers, should contact Melissa Barclay, at melissa.barclay@marquette.edu.
The Institute for Women’s Leadership builds upon Marquette University’s historic role as the first coeducational Catholic university in the world beginning in 1909. The mission of IWL is to advance women’s leadership locally and globally through pioneering research, innovative programming, and collaborative engagement.
