Jan. 14, 2025
MILWAUKEE — Marquette University President Kimo Ah Yun will be the special guest for the next installment of the Marquette University Law School Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education’s “Get to Know” program series on Friday, Jan. 17, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.
Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, hosts the “Get to Know” series, which is styled as “more late-night talk show than ‘Meet the Press.’” Registration is available online for this free public event. Media wishing to attend should contact Kevin Conway at kevin.m.conway@marquette.edu.
President Ah Yun was recently named the 25th president of Marquette, succeeding the late Dr. Michael Lovell. President Ah Yun has been with the university since 2016, serving first as dean of the Diederich College of Communication and then, beginning in 2018, in the provost’s role. He will discuss his background, what brought this California native to Milwaukee, how he is approaching his new position, and what he looks forward to for Marquette and the Milwaukee region.
Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, Marquette Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
