MU letters installationMILWAUKEE — The Office of University Relations at Marquette University received four awards from the Collegiate Advertising Awards, a national competition that recognizes excellence in all forms of advertising, marketing and promotion in higher education.

Marquette received gold awards for the installation of large “MU” letters on campus to enhance the campus visitor experience and for its annual report. The university received silver awards for its tote bag design for undergraduate admissions tours and a redesign of Marquette Today, the daily newsletter for the university community.

“I am immensely proud of the creative ways in which our team supports our campus partners and increases brand visibility for Marquette University,” said Lynn Griffith, chief marketing and communication officer at Marquette. “Through engaging storytelling, compelling visual designs and relentless focus on results, the University Relations team works diligently to elevate the Marquette brand and bolster our reputation as one of the leading Catholic, Jesuit universities in the nation.”

More about each project:

  • In August 2023, branded MU letters were installed outside the Alumni Memorial Union, giving campus tour guides a visual endpoint for their tours. These letters have quickly become a focal point on campus, offering photo opportunities for prospective students, current students, staff and faculty, and alumni.
  • The university annual report is a collaboration between the office of the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and the Office of University Relations and provides an overview of progress and financial report for the previous year. This document is intended to demonstrate that through responsible fiscal stewardship and a culture of investment, the university aims to Be The Difference in all it does.
  • In partnership with Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of University Relations designed a reusable tote bag to serve as a practical, branded keepsake for prospective students visiting Marquette for a college tour.
  • Marquette Today serves as the storytelling hub for the university, and a daily news source for the university community, providing content for a daily newsletter sent to nearly 16,000 people. The Office of University Relations led an in-depth redesign process to update the website, creating an intuitive and engaging user experience that has resulted in a 46% increase in website users and a 77% increase in page views.

The Office of University Relations is a team of storytellers, strategic partners and connectors dedicated to elevating the Marquette brand to transform the lives of those within Marquette’s global community.
