‘Expectation of Valor’ author to go ‘On the Issues,’ Nov. 11

"Expectation of Valor" book coverMILWAUKEE — Col. Kevin Benson, author of “Expectation of Valor: Planning for the Iraq War,” will be the featured guest for an “On the Issues” conversation to be held at Marquette Law School’s Eckstein Hall at 12:15 p.m. on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11.

Benson is a retired decorated Army officer who led the team that developed the invasion plan for coalition ground forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Cobra II. He was a guest on Mike Gousha’s “Sunday Night” program in Milwaukee when he returned from Iraq in 2003. His recently released book provides a firsthand account of aspects of the Iraq War.

Derek Mosley, director of the Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, will lead the conversation.

Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, Marquette Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
