MILWAUKEE — Marquette University and Safe & Sound, a nonprofit organization committed to safe neighborhoods in Milwaukee, will co-host a Juneteenth weekend kick-off celebration on Saturday, June 17, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Safe & Sound, 4422 W. Leon Terrace.
The celebration will feature a Youth Voice Stage to kick off Juneteenth festivities, amplifying youth voices through singing, dancing, poetry, live art and more. There will also be resource tables, food trucks and yard games. Juneteenth T-shirts will also be available.
