Oct. 10, 2019
MILWAUKEE — The National Sports Law Institute at the Marquette University Law School will celebrate its 30th anniversary when it hosts its 30th annual conference Friday, Oct. 18, at 9 a.m. in the Lubar Center at Eckstein Hall.
The conference will include presentations and panel discussions that provide a historical look at the development of the law and its impact on high school, college, professional and international/Olympic sports.
The conference will also feature the presentation of the Master of the Game Award to Marquette Law School Dean Emeritus Frank DeGuire. The Master of the Game Award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the sports industry and who exemplifies the highest level of professionalism in his or her field. DeGuire was dean of Marquette Law School in 1989 when the institute was created and was instrumental in ensuring that it had the support needed to thrive and grow over the next 30 years.
A complete list of scheduled speakers can be found on the conference web page. Registration is closed as the conference is full.
