Media advisory: Marquette Campus Ministry to host animal blessing

joan of arcMILWAUKEE — Marquette University Campus Ministry is hosting an animal blessing at 12:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4, on the east side of St. Joan of Arc Chapel.

Members of the Marquette community are invited to bring their pets to be blessed as part of the Feast of St. Francis Assisi — a practice dating back to the 1200s.

St. Francis is revered in the Roman Catholic Church as the patron saint of animals.

Date: Friday, Oct. 4

Time: 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Place: East side of St. Joan of Arc Chapel, Marquette University campus
