Marquette University nursing professor honored with national award

MILWAUKEE — Dr. Karen Robinson, associate professor of nursing at Marquette University, was recently selected by Marquette student nurse-midwives as the 2019 American College of Nurse-Midwives Teaching Excellence Award Winner.
“Dr. Robinson is an extremely talented and valued faculty member in the College of Nursing, her passion for preparing the Marquette Nurse Midwife to care for vulnerable humans bringing new life into this world, is truly transformational for our students,” Dr. Janet Krejci, dean of the College of Nursing, said. “Being selected for this prestigious award based on nominations submitted by Marquette students speaks to the impact that she has had on their student experience and their future careers as midwives.”
The national award honors a nurse-midwifery professor who has shown outstanding qualities for teaching, who has inspired students to excel, and who repeatedly promoted high standards of nurse-midwifery education. One professor from each Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education pre-credited and credited institution is honored.
