Marquette to host Socially Responsible Investing Symposium, Sept. 19

MILWAUKEE — The Marquette University College of Business Administration and Center for Peacemaking are co-hosting a Socially Responsible Investing Symposium at the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave., on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Rev. Séamus Finn, OMI, will serve as keynote speaker. He will discuss how to best address public policy issues by engaging with public officials and working with corporations. He is a leader in faith-based socially responsible investing. He has served as the chair of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility board of directors and has directed the U.S. Oblate Justice, Peace & Integrity of Creation office since its inception.
Nadelle Grossman, professor and associate dean for academic affairs at Marquette Law School, headlines the panelists. Her area of specialty is business, commercial and corporate law, and she will speak on laws and governance. She will be joined on the panel by Connor Darrow, a student in the college’s nationally renowned Applied Investment Management program, as well as professionals from Baird, Institutional Shareholder Services and Mesirow Financial. Dr. Christopher Merker, adjunct professor of finance, will moderate.
This event is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is required to attend.
