Christmas-related story ideas, photo and video opportunities from Marquette University

MILWAUKEE — As Christmas approaches, Marquette University offers the following story ideas and photo and video opportunities to help with coverage:
Dec. 3
Giving Tuesday: To celebrate Giving Tuesday, students will stop at the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to make thank you cards for faculty and staff. Cards will be hand delivered by representatives of Student Philanthropy Leadership Council.
Dec. 4
Finals stress relief: The 707 Hub, 1102 W. Wisconsin Ave., is hosting creative stress relief activities ahead of final exams from 11 a.m. to noon. Activities include making origami cranes, making slime, organizing stress balls and building puzzles. The event is sponsored by The Art and Science and Creativity seminar.
Dec. 5
Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe Mass: The Marquette community is invited to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Family in the Alumni Memorial Union. Following the Mass, a posada with dinner and dance will take place in Brooks Lounge. A posada is a ritual re-enactment of Mary and Joseph’s search for a lodging in Bethlehem, performed just before Christmas.
Dec. 6
Advent concert: Liturgical Choir will present its annual Advent concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu, 1145 W. Wisconsin Ave.
The theme of the night is Prepare the Way. Musical selections include “Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming,” “Mary’s Canticle,” “Bogoroditse Devo” and more.
Holiday photo booth: Career Services Center will host a holiday photo booth from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first floor of Holthusen Hall, 1324 W. Wisconsin Ave. Students can take solo photos or photos with friends while enjoying holidays and more. The event is sponsored Ascension.
Dec. 12
Holiday Lites: Near West Side Partners, Inc. and MillerCoors will host the annual Holiday Lites event 5 p.m. at the Miller Valley Visitor Center, 4251 W. State St. The event will feature a light show along State Street and will end at the MillerCoors Historic Stables with complimentary holiday cookies, hot cocoa and a visit from Santa.
