Marquette experts available to discuss presidential inauguration

MILWAUKEE — Marquette has several experts available for media interviews this week to discuss the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States.

Lowell Barrington, associate professor of political science and chair of the Department of Political Science, is an expert on Russian politics, American national identity, nationalism and ethnic conflict. He is a research affiliate with the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Center for Russia, East Europe and Central Asia.
Abdur Chowdhury, professor of economics, was the chief economist of the United Nations Economic Commission in Europe.
Barrett McCormick, professor of political science, specializes in Chinese politics. He coordinates Marquette's Interdisciplinary Major in International Affairs.
Paul Nolette, assistant professor of political science, is an expert on the dynamics of contemporary American federalism, the dynamics between politics and law, and the courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He has a Ph.D. in political science from Boston College and a law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Philip Rocco, assistant professor of political science, is an expert on the politics of health reform in the United States. He co-wrote the book Obamacare Wars, published by University Press of Kansas in 2016.
Grant Silva, assistant professor of philosophy, is an expert on immigration, racism and race relations. He has written articles on the challenges that undocumented immigration and the militarization of the U.S.-Mexico border pose to mainstream political philosophy.
