July 19, 2017
MILWAUKEE — Latrice Harris-Collins, assistant dean in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, has recently been named as the staff recipient of the Way Klingler Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award.
Harris-Collins has been at Marquette for 13 years this fall. Each day she works on multicultural community outreach.
Harris-Collins is known for her "real-talk" outreach presentations. She has developed key partnerships to work hands-on with students from local organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, College Possible and Pearls for Teen Girls.
"I have always prided myself on being a model of diversity and inclusion through my personal life and the spirit I bring to campus each day," Harris-Collins says. "I am the product of an urban K-12 Catholic school education, and it has influenced who I am spiritually and professionally."
The Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Awards recognizes one faculty member and one staff member who demonstrate exemplary leadership and manifest the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion into practical action.
