MURA Interest Groups
Hiking Group
First organized in summer 2016, the MURA Hiking Group typically meets once a month for a two-three mile morning walk. Trails at the Schlitz Audubon Center, Grant Park, Lapham Peak State Park, Pike Lake, and Lion's Den Gorge are amongst those that have been explored by the group. Contact Gail Waring (gail.waring@marquette.edu) if you'd like to join or if you have questions about this activity.
Lunch Group
Organized in the summer of 2017, the MURA lunch group typically meets on the third Wednesday of each month at different area restaurants. Contact Alex Kaleta (akaleta101@gmail.com) if you would like your name added to this group's mailing list.
“Moments to Remember – Ignatian Wisdom for Aging” Discussion Group
Organized in spring 2023, the group discusses different segments of the book "Moments to Remember - Ignatian Wisdom for Aging" by Sr. Carol Ann Smith, SHCJ and Fr. Eugene E. Merz, SJ. The book offers a faith perspective for reflection on the experience of aging, drawing especially up the wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The group facilitator is Ed Block and currently meets on the third Thursday of the month at the Wauwatosa Library. If interested in participating in this reflective discussion group, contact Alex Kaleta (akaleta101@gmail.com).
