RISE Mentor Program

Students who are selected to be mentors for RISE are called upon to help usher first year students of color and first-generation students into Marquette. We strive to develop leaders who are committed to their roles because they understand the impact of assisting their peers on the Marquette campus. In modeling leadership, they contribute to a broader objective that aims to help students succeed and thrive at Marquette. The mentor position is a paid position.

Expectations of RISE mentors include participating in on-going training and reflection to help them become more aware of themselves as leaders and to support the needs of the students they mentor. Some topics included in training and reflection include the following:

As a high-level leadership position within RISE, we require full commitment to the role of RISE Leader.

Atten all Mentor training
• Four RISE training dates throughout the spring semester and additional training in the academic year
• RISE summer program in August 2025( Dates TBA)
• Monthly check-ins with mentee groups during the school year
