The Milwaukee Health Department has approved the university’s plans for a mixture
of in-person, hybrid and online instruction this fall. This is the most recent step
in Marquette’s recovery planning process. As previously communicated, Marquette will make a final decision regarding fall reopening
plans next week.

Members of the university’s COVID-19 Response Team met and engaged in productive conversations
with Milwaukee Health Commissioner Jeanette Kowalik and her team to ensure that Marquette’s
Recovery Plan meets the city’s stringent guidelines for reopening campus. Marquette
would like to thank City of Milwaukee leaders, including Mayor Tom Barrett, Commissioner
Kowalik and her team. The city and the university are united in our commitment to
help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and well-being of the Marquette
and Milwaukee communities, while still delivering on our Catholic, Jesuit educational
mission.

Marquette’s Recovery Plan is a phased approach, which allows for the ability to pivot
from one step in the plan to the next, and step back, if needed.

Additional information and a final decision regarding fall reopening plans will be
shared next week.
