At Marquette University we are surrounded by amazing and uplifting people whose stories
can provide positive guidance for all of us.

So far in our 2020-21 series about these Marquette Difference Makers, we’ve met Jenny
Fischer, Comm ’19, who initiated and completed a fundraising and awareness campaign
for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. We also learned about the initiative
taken by Political Science Associate Professor Amber Wichowsky and Klingler College
of Arts and Sciences students to increase voter participation and civic engagement.

Today I want to make sure you know about the work of College of Nursing Clinical Assistant
Professor Callie Chiroff, who earned both her master’s degree (2012) and her doctorate
(2015) in nursing from Marquette. As shown in this video, Dr. Chiroff has extraordinary powers of resilience:
