John K. Wilson, Arts '92
Brookfield, Wis.
John has been a supporter of the Les Aspin Center since he participated in the program in 1990 as an intern in the office of Wisconsin Senator Herb Kohl. He cites his time at the Les Aspin Center as a transformational experience that has shaped his life and career. Through his professional achievements, community involvement and commitment to the Les Aspin Center, he serves as an example to the center’s students, alumni and supporters.
After graduating from Marquette in December 1991, Wilson worked for the Milwaukee law firm Friebert, Finerty & St. John and served as an adviser on Marc Marotta’s congressional campaign. In 1993, he returned to Washington, D.C., to study law at the Georgetown University Law Center, graduating magna cum laude in 1996. Wilson has had a successful law career as partner and corporate lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP in Milwaukee.
John has served on the Les Aspin Center Board of Visitors for 10 years and is a financial supporter of the Les Aspin Center. His support for the center has given countless students the opportunity to study in Washington, D.C. Being able to help the Les Aspin program grow and maintain its success is important to John, along with providing students the opportunity to experience the internship that helped him start his successful career.
He and his wife Lisa live in Brookfield, Wis., with their daughter Alexis.
