Physics Department opens Help Room to support students in Introductory Physics classes

Dr. Karen Andeen selected for NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award.

The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program is a Foundation-wide activity that offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.

This award will fund Dr. Andeen's ongoing research here at Marquette University as part of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory collaboration.

Melissa Vigil, Lab Supervisor, recognized with University Teaching Excellence Award.

Each award citation reads in part: “In recognition of demonstrated ability to inspire students to see the ideals of the University and to cause them to grow in knowledge and scholarship for the glory of God and the good of others.”

This makes the second time in recent years that a member of the department has been so recognized, with Andrew Kunz, Professor, having received the award in 2018.
