Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de MayoCinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates Mexico's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. In the United States, it has become an important way to commemorate Mexican culture and heritage, especially in Mexican-American populations.

We encourage you to learn more about the history about Cinco de Mayo, and the many ways it's celebrated. If you opt to celebrate, remember to do so in a way that respects, rather than appropriates, Mexican culture and the spirit of the holiday.
