2023 Diversity and Inclusion Staff Award - Dr. Jennifer S. Maney
Dr. Jennifer S. Maney is responsible for the bridging of the academic mission with the Catholic Jesuit tradition at Marquette University. She helps support faculty explore their own personal connections with Marquette’s long history and mission and helps develop programming around inclusive classrooms and intercultural engagement across the curriculum.
Prior to her position with the Center for Teaching and Learning, Jennifer directed the Greater Milwaukee Catholic Education Consortium (GMCEC), a collaborative effort between Alverno College, Mount Mary College, Cardinal Stritch University, Marian University and Marquette University, who joined forces to support Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Prior to that, Jennifer was the Director of Career Development at Carroll University. In addition, Jennifer has experiencing directing a federal grant at the Milwaukee Area Technical College, helping to create the first bi-lingual early childhood credential program in the state of Wisconsin.
Jennifer has a doctorate in Educational Policy and Leadership with a minor in diversity education, a master’s in counseling, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Mount Mary University where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate students in the area of inclusionary practices in the classroom. She also sits on the education committee for Nativity Jesuit Middle School and is the Vice-Board Chair and Governance Chair at St. Joan Antida High School in Milwaukee.
