Navigating the MUGlobal Portal Website
The MUGlobal Portal website is the Marquette online study abroad application system. This is where you will lodge your application with our office and also find various resources related to different aspects of the study abroad experience!
Marquette University has over 70+ partnerships worldwide. This can be daunting for students who are just starting out in the study abroad process. We provide you with resources and recommendations on how to narrow down your list of potential program options.
Each study abroad program has its own program brochure page where we provide program-specific information such as academics, finances, travel requirements, housing options, and application requirements. Applying or renewing your passport (required for international travel)

First Time Applying for Passport
Renewing your Passport
A valid, unexpired passport is required for international travel. Students who do not have a passport are highly encouraged to apply immediately. Check out the video tutorial below for additional information and review the Apply for your First Passport as an Adult (state.gov) website. Be aware that some programs may require a copy of your valid, unexpired passport to be considered eligible for review.

It is recommended that your passport's expiration date be at least 6 months (1 year for Spain) beyond the end date of your study abroad program. If the expiration date does not meet the recommended minimum stated, it is strongly encouraged that you renew your passport immediately. Marquette Financial Aid and Study Abroad
Aid eligibility varies for each Marquette student, study abroad program and term. To assist with determining your aid eligibility, check out our financial aid study abroad guide below (links are active!). Full screen recommended.

Application Stage
You have taken your next step in your study abroad journey and have started an application through MUGlobal Portal - Marquette's online study abroad application system. There will be essential information provided to you from our office so be sure to check out the video tutorials below to help you through the process.
Once you have started an application in MUGlobal Portal for a specific program, we provide you with additional program-specific information to assist you with next steps in the Marquette study abroad process. Learn what resources are available to you in your MUGlobal Portal account.
Ensuring your study abroad credits transfer back to Marquette
All study abroad students (excluding Law, Sibanye Cape Town, faculty-led and non-credit bearing experiences) are required to complete the Marquette study abroad course approval form (CAF). Your CAF officially details how your study abroad courses will transfer back to Marquette upon your return to campus (and receipt of your study abroad transcript. After Marquette application decisions are released, you will receive additional email communications and pre-departure resources from our office. Be sure to stay on top of all requirements to ensure you don't fall behind in your study abroad process. Review resources within your MUGlobal Portal, any host institution communications as well as viewing the helpful tutorials below.
Once abroad, there are additional requirements that will appear in your MUGlobal Portal. Do not forget to monitor your Marquette email for updates and communications from our office. Remember that you are still a Marquette student so there are requiements you must complete and submit in order to maintain your enrollment status.
