Cultivating a Space to Come Alive in Faith
Justin Prom, SJ, Engineering '18, told his parents that the St. Joan of Arc Chapel is a special space for students to pray and worship together.
"While Justin was at Marquette, the St. Joan of Arc Chapel was one of the spaces on campus that allowed Justin to come alive in his faith," said Denise Prom, who along with her husband Jeff Prom decided to give to the restoration of the chapel after talking with their son, who made his first vows in the Jesuit order in fall 2020.
"The St. Joan of Arc Chapel was a place for him to pray and worship with peers. Of course, we want that opportunity and possibility to be available to all students, to carry on the tradition of this prayerful space."
Denise pointed out that in a world that often offers difficult and negative news, there is an increasing need to preserve spaces like the St. Joan of Arc Chapel for Marquette students and all youth. "As a parent trying to guide your child in their faith, anything that encourages them in prayer, particularly with their peers, is a gift."
Gifts to the St. Joan of Arc restoration have the opportunity to be matched $2:$1 up to $250,000! Marquette has applied to a foundation who prefers to remain anonymous at this time. To give, visit here.
