... George Grosz the artist was born in Berlin in 1893 and was a leader of the Berlin Dada Movement, known for his fierce portraits of German society in the 1920s. He gained the hatred of the Nazis for his cartoon of Hitler as a ludicrous Wagnerian hero. Grosz came to New York City in 1932 where he settled and raised his family. He died in 1959 during a visit to Berlin. Marty Grosz, born in 1930, grew up in Douglastown, New York where he honed his skill on the guitar by playing at jazz parties. ...
