Kimberly Thiery is a data enthusiast with nearly 15 years of experience in program development and assessment; study design and implementation; and statistical analyses. She earned a bachelor’s in sociology from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, followed by a master’s in social work from Washington University in St. Louis.

Throughout her career, she has led research initiatives in criminology, education, and healthcare, with a primary focus on assessing and addressing needs. Notable projects include evaluating the impact of prison-based dog training programs on behavior; examining the predictive validity of standardized tests, which led to changes in state-wide policy; and assessing the needs of historically underrepresented patient populations.

As someone who grew up struggling with math, she aims to make data meaningful, easy to understand, actionable, and (hopefully sometimes) fun.

In her spare time, she conducts small-scale, personal research projects that seek to answer questions like:
What is the most “Nicolas Cage” Nicolas Cage movie?
Are our childhood heroes also kind of criminals?
And does that one lotion from Sephora really attract spiders?

She is currently pursuing a PhD.
