To report another problem, please contact erik.janners@marquette.edu.All interested singers have a place in the the Marquette Choir Program. The program has three choruses - the University Chorus, the University Women's Chorus and the University Men's Chorus. ALL interested singers are instructed to enroll in the University Chorus which has two sections.
One section is a 1 credit option and all singers are asked to seriously consider enrolling in this section. The other section is for 0 credit and is for those singers who need to avoid overload charges or do not wish to have the class grade counted in their GPA.
The schedule, concert dates, and syllabus for each section are identical. All choral ensembles can be used to complete the ensemble participation requirements of the new Music Minor. While placement interviews for all of the choirs will be held the first three days of each term, students can (and are encouraged to) enroll prior to those dates. Just enroll in University Chorus.
The University Chorus meets from 6:00 to 7:15 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. All female members of the University Chorus will also rehearse from 5:00 to 6:00 on Tuesday evenings. All male members of the University Chorus will also rehearse from 5:00 to 6:00 on Thursdays.
Female students who enroll in the choral program but are not accepted into the University Chorus or choose not to sing in that choir will rehearse in the new Marquette University Women's Chorus from 5:00 to 6:00 on Tuesdays. Male students who enroll in the chorus but are not accepted into the University Chorus or choose not to sing in that choir will rehearse in the new Marquette University Men's Chorus from 5:00 to 6:00 on Thursdays.
