Previously, Rapid City diocesan priests at the parishes had attended to St. Francis Xavier Mission (Brulé Lakota), Ponca Creek, Ponca Creek, Gregory County.

When inspected by a Marquette University archivist, 1980, the volumes were still held at Sacred Heart Church, for 1943-1971, and Immaculate Conception Church, Bonesteel, for 1971-present.
