History: The Soeurs grises (a.k.a. Sisters of Charity, Grey Nuns of Quebec), were founded in Quebec, Canada, 1849, and self-identify with the post-nominal initials, “S.G.Q.” or “S.G.N.”

The Soeurs grises staffed Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel and School (Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota), Fort Totten, Fort Totten Reservation/ Agency, North Dakota/ Dakota Territory
