History: The Cibola Catholic Community, Cibola County, New Mexico, has been a cluster of four parishes sharing a common pastor and resources in the Diocese of Gallup (Archives: Gallup, New Mexico). Two of the four parishes, St. Teresa of Avila, Grants, and San Rafael, San Rafael, have had mixed Native (e.g. Genízaro, Mestizos, Navajo) and non-Native American ancestry. Santa Fe archdiocesan priests at San Rafael Church/ Nuestra Señor de Esquipula Chapel attended to the following Native American missions in New Mexico:

1884-1890 (transferred to Sacred Heart, Gallup)	Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Mission (Zuni), Zuni Pueblo
1888-1892 (transferred to Nuestra Senora de los Dolores, Seboyeta)	San Estevan del Rey Mission (Acoma [Keresan]), Acoma Pueblo
1890-1898 (transferred to Sacred Heart, Gallup)	St. Joseph Mission (Laguna [Keresan]), Laguna Pueblo
