History: Founded by St. Benedict in 5th century Italy, the Benedictine Sisters self-identified with the post-nominal initials, “O.S.B.” The Benedictine Sisters of St. Joseph, Minnesota, were established, 1857, and staffed the following Native Americans schools and a mission:
