History: The Diocese of Shreveport was erected for northern Louisiana from the split of the Diocese of Alexandria-Shreveport, 1986. Within the Shreveport Diocese, Shreveport and its predecessors have administered the following parishes serving Native Americans:

1717-1773 (Shreveport, 1986-present)	San Miguel Chapel (Mestizos, Apache), Los Adayes Presidio [Spanish fort], Natchitoches
1881-present (Shreveport, 1986-present)	St. Joseph Church (Choctaw-Apache), Sabine Parish, Zwolle
