Holdings of Catholic records about Native Americans: Include a 19th century letter (copy, ca. 1867) by Amanda McFarland to Sheldon Jackson, which in part, expresses fear that Catholic missionaries (e.g. Oblates of Mary Immaculate) were attempting to “move into” the Alaskan panhandle. Both McFarland and Jackson were Presbyterian missionaries.
Unless otherwise noted, the repository on this page holds (or held) the records described here and they are not held at the Marquette University Archives.
