History: Holy Family Church, Newtok, Bethel Census Area, Alaska, has been a small and predominantly Native American (Yupik Eskimo) parish in the Yukon- Kuskokwim Delta and in the Diocese of Fairbanks (Archives: Fairbanks, Alaska).

A Jesuit (Turin Province) visited Keyaluvik (Yupik Eskimo)

1952-1980s

Jesuits (Oregon Province) (Archives: St. Louis, Missouri) from Sacred Heart, Chevak, established and attended to Holy Family Mission (Yupik Eskimo), Newtok/ Keyaluvik

1974, 1978

Fire destroyed Holy Family, which was rebuilt four years later

1980s-1990

Fairbanks diocesan priests at Sacred Heart, Chevak, attended to Holy Family

1990s

Became a parish; Jesuits administered Holy Family Church assisted by permanent deacons (Eskimo) 

1999-present

A lay administrator (Yupik Eskimo) and permanent deacons (Yupik Eskimo) have administered St. Bernard’s

1999-present

Visiting Fairbanks diocesan priests and diocesan ministry team members have ministered to St. Bernard’s
