History: The Comboni Missionaries (a.k.a. Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus, Verona Fathers), self-identify with the post-nominal initials, “M.C.C.J.” They made their first U.S. foundation, 1939, established a North American Province, and evangelized Native Americans through these missions in California:
