Little Sister Magdeleine (Hutin) of Jesus founded the Little Sisters of Jesus in Algeria, 1939. The Little Sisters made their first U.S. foundation in Alaska, 1952. In Anchorage and King Island, they served the needy, including Native Americans (e.g. Eskimo), 1952-present.
