History: St. Dominic founded the Dominicans (a.k.a. Order of Preachers), 12th century, who self-identify with the post-nominal initials, "O.P.". They made their first U.S. foundation, 1805, and subsequently created four provinces with St. Albert the Great Province administering its ministries in the central states. Without committing his province to Native American ministry, Rev. Charles Leute, O.P. (Sac & Fox), has personally served the following parishes among Native Americans:

1968-1969	St. Joseph (Dakota), Fort Thompson, Crow Creek Reservation, South Dakota
1968-1969	Ss. Peter and Paul Church (Dakota, in part), Pierre, South Dakota
1970-1979	Christ the King Church (Oglala Lakota) and Our Lady of Lourdes School (Oglala Lakota), Pine Ridge Reservation, Porcupine, South Dakota
1979-1985	Sacred Heart Church (Oglala Lakota), Pine Ridge Reservation, Pine Ridge, South Dakota
1986-1987	Holy Rosary Church (Dakota-Lakota, Ojibwa), Minneapolis, Minisota, and Archdiocesan Office of Native American Ministry
1987-present	Associated parishes -- Christ the King Church (Dakota), Tokio, Seven Dolors Mission (Dakota), Fort Totten, and St. Jerome’s Church (Dakota), Crow Hill -- Spirit Lake Reservation, North Dakota
